Property Management Hub

Property Management Hub vs Buildium

A straight comparison of what each platform does well, so you can pick the right one for your portfolio.

Buildium is one of the best known cloud property management platforms in the US, and plenty of managers run their business on it happily. Here is where it fits, and where we are built differently.

Where Buildium fits well

  • Established cloud platform covering accounting, maintenance, leasing and a resident centre in one system.
  • Large partner and marketplace ecosystem, with add ons for screening, insurance and payments.
  • A sensible default if your team already knows it and you would rather not run a migration.

Where we are built differently

  • Rent collection is the centre of the product: card and bank transfer payments, tenant auto-pay, and late fee rules you configure per property.
  • Tenant and owner portals that you brand as your own, including custom portal colours and your own portal link.
  • E-signatures built into the app, so leases, addendums and notices are signed and filed without a third party tool.
  • A smaller team setup: fewer configuration steps before you can send your first lease or collect your first rent.

Common questions

Can we move across mid-lease?

Yes. Existing leases and tenant balances can be brought over at any point, and tenants keep paying the same way. We set the move up with you so nothing is billed twice.

How long does setup take?

Most owners are collecting rent and sending leases within a few days. Adding properties and units is the bulk of the work, and a lease template only has to be prepared once.

Does it handle owner statements?

Yes. Income and expenses are tracked per property, and owner statements are produced monthly with a portal the owner can log into.
